I have driven this car from Tennessee to Canada and back in 10 days. It is an awesome roadster. If you don't know much about the 1 series, this was the first year of production (Year one of the 1) and it is fitted with the N54 Twin turbo engine. This engine (and other BMW engines for the same year) are commonly plagued with a faulty crank case breather valve which allows oil to trip and air to leak in which causes performance to suffer. This part was professional changed out with a new OEM replacement about two years ago (around $1,800) and the engine has no known mechanical issues. Transmission is 6 speed automatic with paddle shifters. Sport mode is an absolute blast. I have had this car up to about 135mph and it feels like you are going about 80mph (on a closed course obviously). Its a rocket. The only discrepancies for this car are cosmetic. It is a perfect "15-footer" as the majority of any problems are not noticeable from over 15 feet. The wheels all have some type of curb rash (see photo of one wheel with curb rash that is typical for all wheels). The interior leather has cracking from age but no tears or rips in any seats or steering wheel. The headlights have slight scuffing from being polished, but they work perfect. Dashboard has no lights on (airbag, engine, etc.) The car has never been wrecked to my knowledge and has a free and clear title. By no means is this a new or perfect car, but for the amount of money it is an awesome car. Only reason we are selling is because wife is having a baby and carseats are not meant for convertibles.
